Dr. Olawale-Cole was warmly received by the President of NB-CCI, Alhaji Fatai Adegboyega Shokunbi, who expressed his appreciation for the visit and the opportunity to strengthen the relationship between NACCIMA and the bilateral Chamber.

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Emmanuel Essien, Director-General, NB-CCI, and Amb. Nicky Maxwell, Deputy President, Business Development & Partnership.

Presentation of NB-CCI Programmes and N-BIDEA Framework

During the engagement, the NB-CCI team presented an overview of the Chamber’s programmes and strategic initiatives, with particular emphasis on the N-BIDEA Framework—the Nigeria–Benin Business Integration, Development and Economic Advancement Programme.

The presentation highlighted the Chamber’s strategic approach to strengthening and developing cross-border trade between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin, while promoting greater private-sector participation, institutional cooperation and sustainable business opportunities across the two countries.

The engagement provided an opportunity to discuss the Chamber’s ongoing initiatives and its broader vision for strengthening the Nigeria–Benin economic corridor.

NACCIMA Commends NB-CCI’s Work

Speaking during the visit, Asiwaju (Dr.) Michael Olawale-Cole expressed his happiness at visiting the NB-CCI and commended the Chamber for the work it is undertaking to advance bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

He expressed satisfaction with the strategic direction and programmes of the Chamber and pledged his support, in every capacity, to the implementation of NB-CCI’s plans and programmes.

His remarks reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration between NACCIMA and NB-CCI in advancing the interests of the organised private sector and strengthening Nigeria’s engagement with neighbouring markets.

NB-CCI Welcomes Continued Engagement

In his response, Alhaji Fatai Adegbegoya Shokunbi, President of NB-CCI, expressed his delight at hosting the NACCIMA 2nd Deputy President and appreciated his interest in the work and programmes of the Chamber.

The President expressed his optimism about continued engagement and stated that the Chamber looks forward to welcoming Dr. Olawale-Cole again in the near future.

The visit further strengthens the relationship between NACCIMA and NB-CCI and reinforces the shared importance of institutional collaboration, private-sector engagement and practical initiatives to deepen Nigeria–Benin trade and regional economic integration.
