Her Excellency Alhaja Saratou Adeoti Kabassi, 1st Vice President of the Nigeria–Benin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NB-CCI), is participating in the 40th Board of Directors Meeting of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA), now known as the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), being held from 28 to 29 June 2026 in Ankara, Türkiye.

The Republic of Benin was admitted to the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber in February 2026.

Alhaja Saratou Adeoti Kabassi serves as the Permanent Representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Benin (CCI Benin) to the Islamic Chamber. In this capacity, she participates in all meetings of the Board of Directors as well as the General Assembly of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD).

The ICCD is the principal economic arm of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), representing the private sector across 57 member states, with a combined population of more than 1.9 billion people and a collective Gross Domestic Product (GDP) exceeding US$7 trillion.

The 40th Board of Directors Meeting brings together presidents of chambers of commerce, business leaders, and policymakers from across the Islamic world to deliberate on strategies for trade facilitation, investment promotion, and strengthened economic cooperation.

The participation of H.E. Alhaja Saratou Adeoti Kabassi at this important international meeting demonstrates the commitment of the Nigeria–Benin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NB-CCI) to expanding its international presence and developing strategic partnerships beyond the West African sub-region.

Her participation at the ICCD Board Meeting provides an important platform to:

• Position the Nigeria–Benin trade corridor as a gateway for investment from the Islamic world into West Africa;
• Explore preferential financing and trade facilitation mechanisms offered by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and its affiliated institutions;
• Build partnerships with chambers of commerce and business councils from OIC member states;
• Advocate for greater inclusion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in cross-border trade within ICCD development programmes;
• Share experiences and best practices in cross-border trade, logistics, and agricultural value chains.

The Nigeria–Benin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NB-CCI) continues to demonstrate that its leadership is actively engaged at the highest levels of international economic diplomacy, ensuring that the interests of Nigerian and Beninese entrepreneurs are represented in key global economic decision-making forums.

The outcomes and conclusions of the official mission to Ankara will be communicated to members of the Chamber in due course.

Son Excellence Alhaja Saratou Adeoti Kabassi, 1re Vice-Présidente de la Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie Nigeria–Bénin (NB-CCI), participe à la 40ᵉ Réunion du Conseil d'administration de la Chambre Islamique de Commerce, d'Industrie et d'Agriculture (ICCIA), désormais dénommée Chambre Islamique de Commerce et du Développement (ICCD), qui se tient du 28 au 29 juin 2026 à Ankara, en Türkiye.

La République du Bénin a été admise au sein du Conseil d'administration de la Chambre Islamique en février 2026.

Alhaja Saratou Adeoti Kabassi est la représentante permanente de la Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie du Bénin (CCI Bénin) auprès de la Chambre Islamique. À ce titre, elle participe à toutes les réunions du Conseil d'administration ainsi qu'à l'Assemblée générale de la Chambre Islamique de Commerce et du Développement (ICCD).

L'ICCD constitue le principal bras économique de l'Organisation de la Coopération Islamique (OCI) et représente le secteur privé de 57 États membres, regroupant une population de plus de 1,9 milliard d'habitants et un produit intérieur brut (PIB) collectif dépassant 7 000 milliards de dollars américains.

La 40ᵉ réunion du Conseil d'administration rassemble les présidents de chambres de commerce, les dirigeants d'entreprises et les décideurs politiques de l'ensemble du monde islamique afin d'examiner les stratégies relatives à la facilitation du commerce, à la promotion des investissements et au renforcement de la coopération économique.

La participation de S.E. Alhaja Saratou Adeoti Kabassi à cette importante rencontre internationale illustre l'engagement de la Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie Nigeria–Bénin (NB-CCI) à renforcer sa présence sur la scène internationale et à développer des partenariats stratégiques au-delà de la sous-région ouest-africaine.

Sa présence au Conseil d'administration de l'ICCD offre une plateforme privilégiée pour :

• Positionner le corridor commercial Nigeria–Bénin comme une porte d'entrée des investissements du monde islamique vers l'Afrique de l'Ouest ;

• Explorer les mécanismes préférentiels de financement et de facilitation des échanges proposés par la Banque Islamique de Développement (BID/IsDB) et les institutions affiliées ;

• Établir des partenariats avec les chambres de commerce et les conseils d'affaires des États membres de l'OCI ;

• Plaider pour une meilleure intégration des petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) opérant dans le commerce transfrontalier au sein des programmes de développement de l'ICCD ;

• Partager les expériences et les meilleures pratiques en matière de commerce transfrontalier, de logistique et de chaînes de valeur agricoles.

La NB-CCI continue ainsi de démontrer que son leadership participe activement aux plus hauts niveaux de la diplomatie économique internationale, afin de garantir que les intérêts des entrepreneurs nigérians et béninois soient représentés dans les principaux forums mondiaux de prise de décision économique.

Les résultats et conclusions de cette mission officielle à Ankara seront communiqués aux membres de la Chambre en temps opportun.
